Setting up AXIS for use with GridLink

Before you can submit jobs from the local copy of AXIS on your workstation you need to configure it for using GridLink:

In AXIS versions from 11.3.02.001 to 11.4.02.05

1) Run AXIS

2) Open "System Parameters" dialog, go to "Batch" tab, and click on "Network Settings" (or "Remote Control" in some versions).

3) Enter the name of the machine with a licensed controller (e.g. MACHINE1) in the Job Controller/Computer Name box

4) Clock OK

In AXIS versions starting from 11.4.03.001

1) Run AXIS

2) Open "System Parameters" dialog, go to "Distributed Processing" tab, and select "Distributed Processing Mode" as "Use GridLink Module".

3) If you are testing or have purchased one GridLink licence, then add the server name with the licence in the box left to "Add" button, click on "Add".

4) If you are testing or have purchased more than one GridLink licence, then repeat step 3 to add all of licensed servers into the computer list.

5) Click on any server in the list, you will see the version and the licensing information of the controller shown below.

Now AXIS is ready to submit jobs to the farm.

Using the farm

In AXIS Batch list, right-click on a batch that you want to run on the farm, select "Run as remote job", you will be asked to choose a server that you want to submit the job to and also specify the resource priority for this job.
