GridLink Utility:
Controller Activity Management
Features
The user can perform the following actions under "Controller" menu.
To re-connect to controllers that have disconnected from the utility
(due to a service shutdown, server reboot, etc.)
To disconnect from controllers.
This is useful when the user wants to allow another person to run
GridLink Utility to connect to controllers on this farm, because a
controller can only accept connection from one copy of GridLink Utility
at one time.
- Check Job Status on Servers
The user may use this function to refresh the information about the number
of CPU cores, number of licenced helpers, number of running jobs, pending jobs
and copies of AXIS on servers.
- Check Job CPU Usage on Servers
The user may use this function to view the current CPU usage for each AXIS copy running on
servers.
- Update Profile on Controllers
Normally, when the user has changed the current Farm Profile, all
controllers will receive and update with the new profile automatically.
However, in some case (e.g. if the user tries to remove a server from
the farm while a job is running on it), the profile cannot be updated on
servers until the job is finished. If this happens, the user needs to
manually update it later using this menu.
To view the licence information on a server, right-click it and select
the menu "View Licence Information". A dialog shows
whether the GridLink Module is licenced on the server,
and the number of helpers that the licence permits by this server to be
launched and join the distributed processing.
