GridLink Utility:
Miscellaneous Tools
These tools can help the farm administrator to
manage the farm and diagnose problems. The user can perform the following actions under
"Tools" menu.
- Get Servers' System Information
To view the system information (such as CPU, Memory, Operating System, Hard
Disk, etc.) of servers in one window.

Allows the user to view the free disk space for all drives on all servers. This is very useful for the farm administrator to make sure that all servers have enough disk space to store AXIS files.
- Retrieve Local Log Messages from Servers
Allows the user to get messages logged by controllers without logging on to
every machine.
- Get Servers’ IP Addresses
To show the IPv4 addresses of the servers. If a server is
multi-homed, all addresses will be listed.
To show the current system time and the system uptime on servers.
To check the accessibility of a file/path on servers.
In the case that a job failed because the controller couldn’t access
certain file/path, you can use this feature to confirm/diagnose the
problem.
- Server Message Block 2.0 Settings - Set/Check SMB2 Settings in
Registry
Server Message Block (SMB) Version 2 is a network file system
protocol that has been implemented in Windows Server 2008, Windows HPC
Server and other operating systems.
When SMB2 is in use, depending on the registry settings, the local
caching on the client side may become out-of-sync with the file system
and this may cause AXIS Distributed Processing to fail. The farm
administrator may need to select the menu "Set SMB2 Settings in
Registry" to change some registry settings on GridLink servers in order
to avoid this problem. He/she can also check the settings by selecting
the menu "Check SMB2 Settings in Registry".
