Installing a Licence File

If you have received a new licence file from GGY and want to install it on your existing GridLink farm, please note that the licence file installation procedure has been simplified in GridLink 4.00.

If your current licence file is still working, follow the instructions below.

If you are using GridLink 4.00 or a later version, please follow the steps below to update the farm with the new licencing information. You do not need to restart the service on any server.

1. Run GridLink Utility, and select the menu "Maintenance - Suspend Farm".

2. Make sure that there's no AXIS job running on the farm.

3. In GridLink Utility, select the menu "Maintenance - Update Licence File".

4. Specify the new licence file in the "Open File" dialog, and click on "Open" button. The licence information will be updated on the farm.

5. In GridLink Utility, select the menu "Maintenance - Resume Farm".

If you are using GridLink version older than 4.00, please follow the steps below to update the farm with the new licencing information:

1. Copy the new licence file to GridLink Controller installation directory on the server for which the licence file was created (the machine for which you forwarded the MAC address to GGY). If there is an old licence file exists there, please overwrite it.

2. Run GridLink Utility, and select the menu "Maintenance - Suspend Farm".

3. Make sure that there's no AXIS job running on the farm.

4. Restart GridLink service on this server by right-clicking on the server name from the server list in the utility and selecting "Service - Stop Service" and then "Service - Start Service".

Please note that you do NOT need to restart the service on all servers.

5. In GridLink Utility, select the menu "Maintenance - Resume Farm".

If your current licence file has already expired and you cannot run GridLink Utility to log on because the Profile Host now doesn't have a licence.

If you are using GridLink 4.00 or a later version, GridLink Utility should ask you to select the new licence file to use.

If you are using a GridLink version older than 4.00, you will need to install the new licence file manually:

1. Copy the new licence file to GridLink Controller installation directory on the Profile Host. If there is an old licence file exists there, please overwrite it.

2. Run GridLink Utility, enter the Profile Host name in the "Log On" dialog box.

3. Click on "Service" button, select "Stop the service" and then click on "OK" button to return to the "Log On" dialog box.

4. Click on "OK" button on the "Log On" dialog box and follow the instructions.
