Running a cell involves interactively performing the calculations according to the reports selected, inforce data defined and modeling approach specified in the Processing Section of that cell's assumption screen. You may only run a cell which you have first opened using the New or Edit commands.
Running a cell allows you to view either or both of the Policy Year Results and the Calendar Year Projections. The Calendar Year Projections may then be saved with the Cell to be used in higher level objects or to be viewed at a later time (without the need to edit and run the cell first).
Once you have selected the "current" cell from the list of cells available, open the cell for editing by selecting the Edit command from the Action Menu, which may be displayed by:
right-clicking click anywhere in the object list window, or
clicking on the Actions button found on the Action Bar near the top of the Application Window.
After the cell has been opened, you may run it at any time by:
clicking on the Run button in the Action Bar, or
pressing <Alt> R on the keyboard.
After a Cell has been run, the Pricing Summary Results are displayed and you may then select Policy Year Results or Calendar Year Projections, if they have been run, or select from a number of other reports.
