Tables with Expandable Columns
in AXIS Users Guide - Working with Tables

Some column-specific Tables use "expandable" columns which allow the user to enter additional age and duration based data which is used in addition to the normal vector of values shown in the column.  The additional data is structured as a 100 X 100 matrix of values by entry age and duration, which is hidden during the normal display of the table contents, but which can be expanded and edited like a separate table.  The option to enter additional data for a specific column will be signalled by the presence of a "cylinder" icon with a "+" in it, as shown in column 1 of the image below:

When the cylinder icon is white, as in the above image, there is no additional data currently stored.  When data has been added to the additional 100 X 100 matrix, the icon is solid grey.

How to edit data in an Expandable Column

The additional linked data in an expandable column can be viewed and edited by double-clicking on the "cylinder" icon or right-clicking anywhere in the column and choosing "Edit extra data in column..." from the action menu.  The table editor will change the view to show the selected column "frozen" (but editable) on the left and the 100 x 100 grid for the extra data associated with this column on the right, as illustrated below.

The columns of the additional data may be shown in extracted "Partial view" (10 columns) or "Full view" (all 100 columns) and the user may toggle between these views using the buttons below the data.  All standard table editing functions work with the additional data as well as with the single column on the left in this view.

To return to the normal view and hide this additional data, click the "To Main Table" button in the Table window below the data.  You may also close and save the whole table directly from this expanded column view if you wish

Note: Additional data in an expandable column can also be imported from and exported to the import/export database along with the regular table data.
