Actuary - Client Consultant for AXIS

GGY AXIS is looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in working with our clients to make sure they get the best out of our system - AXIS. You will deal directly with our U.S. clients on a daily basis to provide actuarial support, training and advice on best practices for implementing models in AXIS. You will also work on documentation for clients and research projects that provide exposure to state of the art actuarial science and its application to real problems.

You will possess strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and analytical skills and will have at least 5 years of experience in the life insurance industry in the U.S. You should have experience in life, annuity or health in areas such as pricing, valuation, corporate modeling, risk management, ALM, stochastic modeling work, hedging. Some of the client contact and training will be at their offices so you should be willing to travel.

New or Recent Fellow - Actuarial Programmer

GGY is always looking for Actuaries with strong technical skills and experience with actuarial modeling systems to help develop the AXIS Actuarial System. Your job will entail designing and implementing new features for AXIS and solving actuarial issues posed by our clients. You will be communicating directly with actuaries at client companies that use AXIS and with our research, marketing and client support professionals.

You must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills. You enjoy both learning and teaching. Previous experience in object oriented programming and/or with the AXIS Actuarial System would be an asset, but is not a requirement. Training in the AXIS Actuarial System and in our programming language of choice (C++) will be provided.

This unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to utilize both actuarial and computer science expertise in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. You will gain valuable exposure to the latest trends and requirements of the actuarial profession since we provide on-going enhancements for our customers in North America and abroad.

New or Recent Fellow - Client Support Specializing in Actuarial Testing

GGY, the developer of the AXIS system, is looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in joining the Actuarial Tester branch of our Client Support Team. The Client Support Team deals directly with our clients on a daily basis to provide actuarial support and training. The Actuarial Tester sub-team will focus on testing new versions of the system to ensure the new features requested by our clients are successfully implemented before we release the version. You will also be expected to communicate with the feature requestors to ensure the business specifications of the programming jobs meet their needs.

You will possess strong communication and analytical skills and will have at least 4 years of experience in the life insurance industry in Canada or the U.S. You should have experience in life, annuity or health in areas such as pricing, valuation, corporate modeling, risk management, ALM, stochastic modeling work, hedging. Previous experience in using the AXIS Actuarial System would be an asset.

Actuarial Student - Actuarial Programmer

GGY is also looking for actuarial students with strong technical skills to help develop the AXIS Actuarial System. You will be working closely with actuaries and actuarial students and collaborating with our client support, system design and marketing professionals. Your job will entail designing and implementing new features for AXIS and solving actuarial issues posed by our clients.

As an ideal candidate, you are an Actuarial Student with a strong interest in actuarial systems or a double major in actuarial and computer science. You must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills. You possess strong analytical skills and excellent research capabilities. You are making good progress towards the completion of your actuarial exams. Previous experience in object oriented programming and/or with the AXIS Actuarial System would be an asset, but is not a requirement. Training in the AXIS Actuarial System and in our programming language of choice (C++) will be provided.

GGY Customer Support
