The following positions are currently available:

Actuary / Actuarial Student - Actuarial Programmer

GGY is looking for individuals with strong technical background to fill the position of Actuarial Programmer.  The successful candidate will be placed in one of the following teams:  Actuarial Design and Development, Asset Liability Management, New Money Products or Traditional Products.  You will be working closely with actuaries and actuarial students and communicating with members of our other two teams: the Systems Design team and the Consulting team.  Your job will entail designing and implementing new features for AXIS and solving actuarial issues posed by our clients.  You will be communicating directly with actuaries at client companies that use AXIS.

As an ideal candidate, you are an Actuary / Actuarial Student with a strong interest in actuarial systems or a double major in actuarial and computer science.  You must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills.  You possess strong analytical skills and excellent research capabilities.  If you are an Actuarial Student, you are making good progress towards the completion of your actuarial exams.  Previous experience in C++ programming and/or with the AXIS Actuarial System would be an asset, but is not a requirement.  Training in the AXIS Actuarial System and in our programming language will be provided.

This unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to utilize both actuarial and computer science expertise in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.  You will gain valuable exposure to the latest trends and requirements of the actuarial profession since we provide on-going enhancements for our customers in Canada and abroad.

Actuary - Client Consultant for AXIS

GGY AXIS is looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in working with our clients to make sure they get the best out of our system - AXIS. You will deal directly with our U.S. clients on a daily basis to provide actuarial support, training and advice on best practices for implementing models in AXIS. You will also work on documentation for clients and research projects that provide exposure to state of the art actuarial science and its application to real problems.

You will possess strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and analytical skills and will have at least 5 years of experience in the life insurance industry in the U.S. You should have experience in life and annuity in the areas of pricing, corporate, ALM or stochastic modeling work. Some of the client contact and training will be at their offices so you should be willing to travel.

If you want to use and improve your actuarial skills in a high-tech, fast-paced, client-driven environment and enjoy helping people and learning new things every day, these positions will be of interest to you. GGY AXIS head office is Toronto but if you currently reside at another location and do not want to relocate then we can also accommodate you. Preference will be given to those with AXIS experience.

GGY Customer Support

GGY, the developer of the AXIS system, is looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in joining our Customer Support Team. This team deals directly with our clients on a daily basis to provide actuarial support and training. The team also provides documentation for clients; tests new versions of the system; and works on research projects that provide exposure to state of the art actuarial science and its application to real problems.

You will possess strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and analytical skills and will have at least 5 years of experience in the life insurance industry in Canada or the U.S. You should have experience in life, annuity or health in the areas of  pricing, corporate, ALM or stochastic modeling work. Some of the client training is outside of Toronto so you should be willing to travel. Preference will be given to those with ALM and/or U.S. experience.
